Just as vital to our future as the work we do, the collaborations we enter, and the expertise we both share and gain from attending and presenting at conferences is the recognition of that expertise in the form of promotions for staff as their responsibilities increase. This year, LII’s leadership was thrilled to see four of our staff receive significant recognition of their dedication and expertise in the form of promotions: Eric Gullufsen was promoted from Developer to DevOps engineer, a previously vacant position for which he been training; Vivek Kumar was promoted from Junior Developer to Developer, filling Eric’s previous position on LII’s core staff; Nichole McCarthy was promoted from Original Content Collections Manager to Director of Student Research and Content Development, acknowledging her expanded responsibilities over original content; and Valarie Kimber was promoted from Administrative Coordinator to Administrative Manager, reflecting her overarching responsibilities over LII finance, fundraising, and communications operations.
