We are proud of how many educational institutions — alongside nonprofit organizations, news outlets, and all levels and branches of government — sent their readers to us over the last twelve months. Students at all levels accessed the LII website millions of times last year to view primary law, our explanatory materials, and special features such as Professor (and former CLS Dean) Peter Martin’s “Introduction to Basic Legal Citation.”
Beyond Cornell, multiple State University of New York (SUNY) schools referred traffic to LII in the past year, as did universities hosting most of the “top 14”-ranked law schools. We were especially heartened to see our resources used in K12 education (one particularly encouraging referral was from a “k12” domain to a higher education financial aid law, 20 USC 1092, “Institutional and financial assistance information for students”). Internationally, we received referrals from universities in India, Mexico, Hong Kong, Argentina, Turkey, China, Philippines, Vietnam, and Australia.
We were also excited to see referrals from dozens of nonprofits whose work supports education. Some good examples include a link from an organization serving sign language interpreters to the California state regulation on Specialized Services for Low-Incidence Disabilities, from the Securities Investor Protection Corporation to the section of the U.S. Code regarding registration of broker-dealers, and from the American Bar Association to the Wex page on the Establishment Clause of the Constitution.
